The owner of the Forest Lodge Stud approached us after we had created a previous static website for her, The Oak Ball Website. So we already had a great working relationship. The Forest Lodge Stud has been an established business for some time, but the owner saw the potential of having their business broadcasted online. Having the ability to show the horses online, at any time of the day or night, is a valuable asset to have for any Horse breeders trying to market their horses.
The forest Lodge Stud Website has been built into one of our CMS (Content Management Systems) enabling the website owner to update the site as and when she wants.
The most important part to this website was to ensure that the website visitor was engaged throughout their visit to the website. We have achieved this by combining several key factors.
- Good use of photography (pictures painting a thousand words)
- Giving the visitor an insight into the daily life at the Stud
Throughout the design process we aimed to make the back-end as simple to manage as we could, so we created custom write panels within the system to enable the website owner to methodically work through the system, entering all of the information that was needed for each page.
Creating a website to sell Hanoverian horses was a new one for us, none of the team here are horse riders, so with a little bit of quick thinking, and using lots of car analogies as examples we were able to get all of the information required in order to make a great looking website.
